Message from Ms Hilary Poole, Chair of the Board of Governors
While the school operates in an increasingly competitive and demanding environment. I joined the Board at a time when much of the hard work and foundations for the next phase of the School’s development have been laid. The main objective of my role is to ensure that the Board operates with the highest level of effective governance. We work to support our Principal and her team to achieve these goals:

Successful implementation of the International Baccalaureate Diploma programme, alongside the maintenance of a solid NCEA programme so that we truly offer a dual pathway for our students |

|
Maintain best practice in teaching and learning, and an innovative environment that continues to engage and stimulate our students and develop our teachers |

• |
|
Develop the 'whole girl', through our strengths in sport, the arts and music - skills and experiences in these areas translate into success in the classroom and |

• |
|
Fulfil the vision for the development of the campus that was put in place over 10 years ago. At present, our focus is on the development of the new indoor Acquatic Centre, the all weather sports turf and the underground carpark |
Diocesan School is a progressive, dynamic organisation. In education there will always be issues and challenges, but from what I see, we are in a strong leadership position, providing one of, if not the best, all-round girls’ education in a Christian environment, in Australasia.

Board Organisation
The Board is comprised of talented individuals who are passionate towards the ongoing success of Diocesan School.
To utilise this talent and spread the workload, the Board is organised in a number of governance committees. Each committee is chaired by a Governor, and meets as required to review policy and monitor performance.
