Board of Governors
Message from Mr Andrew Peterson, Chair of the Board of Governors
The main objective of my role as Board Chair is to ensure that the Board operates with the highest level of effective governance. We work to support our Principal and her team to achieve these goals and to ensure that our students can achieve the vision behind the School's purpose statement of "being more than you ever imagined":
• Offer a true dual pathway for our students through the International Baccalaureate Diploma programme and the NCEA programme
• Maintain best practice in teaching and learning, and an innovative environment that continues to engage and stimulate our students and develop our teachers
• Develop the 'whole girl', through our strengths in sport, the arts and music as well as the innovative leadership and ethics programmes - skills and experiences in these areas translate into success in the classroom and
• Fulfil the vision for the development of the campus that was put in place over 10 years ago. Having successfully completed the development of the outstanding indoor Aquatic Centre, the focus has been on the all-weather sports turf and the underground carpark which will also provide fist class facilities for the students and the School community
Diocesan School is a progressive and dynamic organisation. Through the leadership of our Principal, the School continues to strive for excellence in all facets of its activities in an environment that celebrates the School's Christian character and Anglican expression.

Recent Update and changes
Earlier last year, Hilary Poole advised the Board that she would conclude five years service on the Board at the School's AGM in May 2012. Just prior to Christmas, Ms Poole stood down as Chair of the Board, but will remain a Board member until the AGM. Ms Poole has provided outstanding leadership to the Board and the School. The School has greatly benefited from her commitment and expertise.
