Code of Conduct

At Diocesan we aim to create an environment and community where everyone feels happy, safe and respected. The Code of Conduct was written as a joint initiative between staff and the School Student Council. The code outlines the expectations and values for our school community to create an environment we can be proud of.

Service

We look for opportunities to be of service to others. We use our initiative and act in ways that are thoughtful and caring. We are generous with our time and talents and contribute towards the improvement of our school and community without thought of personal reward. We make a positive contribution to our peer group and the wider school community. We honour the commitments we make to others.

Tradition

We have a sense of pride and ownership in our school heritage. We work in a cooperative and supportive way to ensure that Diocesan remains a safe and valued environment. We behave in ways that uphold Christian values and are proud of the Anglican traditions of our school. Through our participation, we actively nurture the School’s spirit.

Achievement

We aim high and strive to achieve our personal best. We have the courage to set our own goals, and using determination, we give our best effort in all that we do. We encourage and support the learning and achievements of others. We work together as a team to create a positive, dynamic and diligent environment. We are proud of our own achievements. We openly praise others and celebrate success.

Respect

We are all valued by, and belong to, a friendly, welcoming and supportive school community. We respect ourselves, others and the environment. We treat everyone with consideration and courtesy. We are honest and sincere. We do the right thing even if it isn’t the easiest or most popular decision. Every day we choose to embrace all areas of school life with a positive and open attitude. We realise that our backgrounds and circumstances have influenced who we are, but we are responsible for who we will become.
