Admissions Process

Enrolling at Diocesan School involves a few easy steps - requesting the School's prospectus, completing the enrolment application form and the selection process.

Step 1: Request an Application Pack

Diocesan’s award winning prospectus contains information about the School, the boarding house and an application form.

Click here to request a prospectus online or phone our Admissions Office for a copy to be sent to you. Alternatively, should you be in the neighbourhood you are welcome to visit the School and collect a copy.

Step 2: Completing an Application Form

You can apply for a position at Diocesan by completing the application form that you received with the prospectus and returning it to the School or use our simple 'apply online' facility. Both methods require a registration fee of NZ$200.00 (inclusive of goods and services tax).

If applicants are not living in New Zealand, the application needs to be supported by written credentials (copies of reports, references, certificates and standardised test scores). This provides a basis for our selection.

International Fee Paying students need to provide information on the level of their command of English.

Step 3: Once your completed Application Form is received by the School

Students remain on the waiting list until a vacancy occurs, or they are contacted for an interview and test prior to the next entry point. This process begins 18 months prior to the date a student would expect to start at Diocesan. However, applications are accepted throughout the year at all levels. It is advantageous to be on the waiting list before the process at intake levels begins.

Step 4: On Selection

Students are accepted formally in writing. Acceptance of the place requires an enrolment fee. This fee is inclusive of goods and services tax. The enrolment fee for Years 1-6 is NZ$1,125.00, Years 7-10 is NZ$843.75, Years 11-13 is NZ$562.50 and International Students is NZ$2,250.00. This represents a commitment to filling that place (sometimes a year or more ahead of the student’s starting date). Some students start immediately if the situation allows.
