Principal's Message
In the 1990's, as part of the School's long-term Strategic Vision, a master plan was developed to scope the future growth of the School's academic and sporting activities, without losing sight of the heart and history that are reflected in School House, the School Hall and Chapel.
A Campus Development Plan was initiated, the mandate was to provide world class facilities for our students to achieve their personal best, while at the same time maintaining campus aesthetics and architectural history.
The latest milestone from the Campus Development Plan has been the completion of our beautiful state of the art Aquatic Centre, which provides year round water sports and fitness facilities for the whole school. This was officially opened on 13 February 2009 by His Excellency, The Honourable Anand Satyanand, Governor General of New Zealand.
The next step, Stage Two, will be the building and development of the much needed all-weather multi-purpose sports turf to accommodate hockey, netball, tennis, touch and physical education. There will also be provision for on-campus car parking. Our latest campaign - 'Get the Ball Rolling' aims to raise $300,000 which will keep us on target to complete our stunning new turf. The facility will provide our girls with even more opportunities to participate in the wide range of physical education and sporting activities that Diocesan offers to students at all levels, regardless of their abilities.
The facilities our students enjoy today are the direct result of the generosity and hard work of previous generations of the Diocesan School family, and we would like to take this opportunity to thank our school community's for your generous support - through pledges, donations and a series of successful fundraising campaigns. Because of your great contributions we are well on our way to achieving our goal.
We invite you to become involved in our ongoing campus development and make a financial contribution to ensure that Diocesan School for Girls remains at the forefront of sporting excellence.
