The Big Night In
Friday 16 September: proudly supported by The Kings of Real Estate

This event saw the Dawn Jones Sports Centre transformed into a colourful party venue. Faux rugby goal posts and life size cut-outs of current All Black players greeted guests on arrival. The main gym floor was a riot of colour, Japanese and New Zealand flags hanging from the balcony railings, and red, black and white crepe paper pompoms decorating the ‘grandstand’. Guests enthusiastically dressed in theme and decorated their tables. Predictably there were numerous rugby-clothed men, some cutting finer figures than others, a generous smattering of geishas, and even a collection of tartly clad female rugby groupies! The Best Dressed awards went to Cameron Grant (the real cauliflower in his ears secured his place), and to Barbara Goodall in a very stylish Kimono. The best dressed table had to go to the Hiles-Smith creation which included a replica rugby field complete with real grass.
The highlight of the evening was watching the All Blacks vs Japan on three large screens. Once the game had finished guests hit the dance floor and displayed substantial talent as they grooved to the stunning array of music videos.
The evening would not have been possible without the generous support of the School and wider community. This included the donation of wonderful auction items; product and services used during the evening; and of course, attendance as guests.
