A busy start to the sports year
It’s been a busy start to the year for the Dio Sports Department, with the roll-out for sport for 2022 – and with all the Covid protocols to follow as well.

Over the past week, and into next week, we have held Secondary School trials for a number of sports; touch, tennis, water polo, netball, futsal, cricket, and our Code Captains hosted our very successful sports info evening in the Sports Centre on Wednesday. There are pre-season and development sessions running for netball and hockey, and we’d like to wish very best of luck to all our competitive swimmers in their swimming finals tomorrow, and to our rowing girls who are competing at the Head of Harbour Regatta at Lake Pupuke this weekend. A final special shout out to Sienna French who was awarded the Mangere-Otahuhu U-19 Sportswoman of the Year Award for 2021!

Please keep an eye on the DioConnect sports page for the closing dates for all online sports registrations.
