Year 13 student Chantelle May has been selected for the Junior World Fencing Championships to be held in Dubai this April.
Chantelle is the only athlete in the NZ Women’s Foil to meet the criteria for this. In 2020 and 2021 Chantelle met the criteria to compete at this event but unfortunately, due to COVID, wasn’t able to travel – we are hoping this year is different!
Chantelle hopes to be able to use the high level competition to gain exposure and to target the senior and junior Commonwealth Games teams.
