Dio flautist invited to play at Carnegie Hall
Year 12 flautist Helen Kim is a rising star!

Helen has just received confirmation of winning first place in the Woodwind & Brass section of the American Protégé International Competition and has been invited to perform at the Carnegie Hall in New York in June 2021 as part of the competition programme.

She is currently the fourth place-getter from Diocesan in the last three years, following in the footsteps of cellist Emily Ai who also won first place in this competition back in 2017.

Helen represents New Zealand in both the NZSSSO and NZYSW as co-principal flute. She was also the only flautist through to the national finals of the NZCT Chamber Music competition this year in Wellington.

A woman to watch and a fabulous achievement Helen!
