JHS Concerto Competition
Last Thursday we ran the first arts event of the year and there is no doubt the display of talent from our JHS instrumentalists was nothing short of phenomenal.

Despite last-minute withdrawals and down-to-the wire decisions, the continual interruptions made this ‘third time lucky’ event all the more exciting.

We all felt immensely privileged to witness the sheer precocity of talent on show and the adjudicator, Tim Wayne-Wright was blown away by the technical assuredness and musicianship of these instrumentalists, not to mention the stunning new Steinway concert grand piano! The ‘grande dame’ arrived a day before lockdown last August and has been waiting for an opportunity to be played ever since – our JHS students are the first to be given the honour.

It was wonderful to have senior management supporting the girls – this was hugely important to the families who were unable to attend due to COVID restrictions.

Our team are determined to run whatever events we can in our beautiful Arts Centre – our mantra is stay flexible and go with the flow.
