Outstanding achievement for Diocesan Hip Hop!
Diocesan had three teams in Auckland's regional NZCAF Hip Hop Competition, held on 9 August at Green Bay High School.
All three teams performed incredibly well during the heats, further improving their performances and upping their game in the finals. This is the first time this year that the teams have had the opportunity to perform their Hip Hop routines on a stage as a team. The girls did exceptionally well, both on and off stage - the seniors supported the juniors - and all the other teams who participated.
The results are as follows:
Girls Scouts (our trio troupe) - 2nd in the Mini Crew Category
Senior Hip Hop Crew - 1st in the Mega Crew Category
Junior Hip Hop Team - 3rd in the Mega Crew Category
Our Junior Hip Hop Team competed for the first time in this competition, as the AIMS Games are no longer going ahead.
Only the top three teams in each category qualify for the nationals in Wellington, and all three teams have qualified - an outstanding achievement for Diocesan Hip Hop!
A huge thank you to Ashley Medcalfe who has done a fantastic job mentoring these talented dancers, as well as creating choreography for and with the girls for their performances today. Also, a very big thank you to the Senior Hip Hop Crew Team Manager, Mindy Levene, and Junior Hip Hop Team Team Manager, Anna Fisher, for all their hard-work, coordinating and facilitating these teams being able to compete.
