The CEL staff are experienced at identifying students with a range of learning differences and offer tailored support to meet their learning needs. CEL staff work closely with parents, academic and pastoral staff to ensure girls benefit from a good support network.
Centre for Enhancement of Learning
At Dio, student support isn’t just something we do on the side. It’s everything we do.
Our Centre for the Enhancement of Learning (CEL) has an experienced team of staff and excellent programmes to meet a student's learning needs, so your daughter has every opportunity to reach her true potential.
The Centre is open to all students for extra support across the curriculum including help with study techniques, time management and planning strategies. Most of our girls feel comfortable asking for help, but anyone in their wider support network can refer a student to the Centre where students have access to learning programmes, resources and expert guidance.

Gifted and Talented
Any girl who excels in a certain subject has the option to take it at a higher level. Students can begin Level 1 NCEA papers in Year 10 and our Year 13 students have the opportunity to take university papers in their final year. There are NZQA Scholarship opportunities for gifted students in subjects across the curriculum.
The School’s most recent ERO Report praised the Centre for its outstanding contribution to student results and wellbeing.
