The move to Junior High School is a big step both academically and emotionally. It’s a developmental journey in the transition toward becoming a young adult. At Dio, it’s also a time of amazing opportunities and experiences.
Our philosophy is to educate both hearts and minds. The Junior High years are a time of change and growth for all our students, so we are careful to recognise both academic and personal development as our girls discover more about who they are.
Our focus at Junior High is to expand on the building blocks of learning, as well as guiding students towards building plans for the future. From Year 7 onwards, students talk through specific learning goals with their tutor, who helps each student reach and exceed the goals she sets for herself.
Our Junior High School students have so many opportunities to take their learning beyond the classroom through Sport, Performing Arts and our progressive Education Outside the Classroom programme. It’s all about teaching new skills and helping our girls to develop self-confidence to aim for excellence in everything they do.
