A place to gather strength

At Waiora, we work alongside our neurodiverse learners, their whānau, teachers, and other professionals to foster independence, build confidence, and enrich learning. Our guiding whakataukī, “Mā te huruhuru ka rere te manu – Adorn the bird with feathers and it will soar”, captures our belief that with the right support, every learner can thrive.

Gifted and Talented Programme

We recognise that gifted learners are neurodiverse and benefit from specialised pathways to extend and challenge their thinking. Waiora offers enrichment opportunities such as:

  • Philosophy for Curious Minds (P4CM): Exploring big questions in a community of inquiry.
  • Future Problem Solving (FPS): Tackling global scenarios with creativity and critical thinking.
  • Maths Olympiad: Developing problem-solving skills through competition and collaboration.

These programmes encourage curiosity, creativity, and independent learning—helping students discover and develop their unique strengths.
