Rebecca Hounsell (10SE) attended the National Climbing Championships and team selection in Wellington.
Rebecca finished in second place and was selected for the development squad.

Rebecca also recently took part in a charity climb which raised nearly $14,000 for a charity close to Rebecca’s heart – Kenzie’s Gift.

Kenzie’s Gift cares for children facing grief and loss, including providing professional counselling services to young people who have suffered great loss. Rebecca’s goal was to recognise their work and raise funds to help them continue their amazing support for bereaved young people and their families.

Also, as a result of these two events, Rebecca has been offered the opportunity to learn to route set (put up the new climbing routes). This is quite an accolade for a climber her age.
