She secured her qualification at the recent Kinloch Triathlon Festival, which served as the National Age Group Championships and the official qualifier for the World Championships.

At just 15 years old, Maggie raced up in the 16–19 age group and delivered an outstanding performance, finishing 4th in a time of 20:16. She remained with the front pack throughout the race and finished strongly, crossing the line only 27 seconds behind third place in an exceptionally tight field, where just 22 seconds separated 2nd through 4th.

This is a remarkable achievement, particularly given she was competing above her age group, and it has been recognised with selection to the New Zealand team.

The World Championships will take place in Abu Dhabi from 13–22 November 2026.
