Dio Kapa Haka Group Performs at Polyfest 2025
Te Kura o Ngā Taiohine, the Dio Senior Kapa Haka group, delivered a powerful and moving performance at the historic 50th anniversary of Polyfest last week, securing an impressive 7th place overall among 30 competing groups.

Our performers captivated the audience at Manukau Sports Bowl with passion, precision, and cultural pride, representing our school community with distinction. The supportive atmosphere was electric as students, staff, and whānau gathered to cheer on our talented rōpū, while many more watched via livestream.

This achievement reflects countless hours of dedicated practice and deep commitment to honouring Māori culture and traditions, truly embodying our school values of excellence and courage. The spirit of manaakitanga was evident throughout, as performers shared their cultural knowledge and talents while supporting one another with respect and care.

We extend our heartfelt congratulations to all performers and express sincere gratitude to Whaea Cydel Peters and the Kapa Haka Pouāwhina Tutors Hilda-Rose and Zach for their guidance and inspiration throughout this journey. The entire Dio community can take pride in this wonderful accomplishment at such a significant cultural celebration.
