The event gave our crews the opportunity to showcase the progress made at summer camp and test themselves against some of the fastest school and club crews in the North Island.

Racing across the weekend was frequently disrupted by strong winds and heavy rain. Despite the challenging conditions, the girls showed outstanding resilience and determination, leaving everything on the water. Weather interruptions led to a compressed finals schedule on the final day, resulting in the cancellation of all C finals and most B finals. With quick turnarounds between races, it was a true squad-wide effort to get every crew to the start line, highlighting the importance of each athlete’s contribution to Dio Rowing’s overall success.

Across three days of competition, Dio achieved impressive results, reaching 21 A finals, 6 B finals and 2 C finals. The squad delivered standout performances in the Intermediate and Club Coxed Eight events, winning gold in both and demonstrating the depth and promise of the programme. It was a fantastic weekend that reflected the squad’s hard work, commitment, and growing strength.
