During Term 2, our Foundation Class participated in the Zero Waste Panel Design Project with the Waiorea Community Recycling Centre. This project aims to establish a learning hub that fosters positive change within the community while promoting the vital message of zero waste and sustainable living.

The Foundation Class focused on designing a panel that would be displayed alongside other panels created by various Early Childhood Education (ECE) centres and schools. Together, these panels will form a breathtaking panoramic view of the Western Springs Lakeside. Our contribution was to represent the sky, trees, lake and grass, using recycled materials only.

The girls thoroughly enjoyed every part of this project and were even supported by our buddy class! The discussions the children had along the way were very beneficial to their understanding of recycling and sustainability. Reduce, Reuse, Recycle!
