From Wednesday 4 to Friday 6 March, Chloe Wang (Year 9), Jessica Wang (Year 10), Piper Watts (Year 11), Gemma Twist (Year 13), and Luca Shortall (Year 13) competed at the College Sport Auckland Champ of Champs tournament at the Total Coach Tennis Centre.
Jessica and Piper, competing in the Intermediate Girls Doubles, had an outstanding tournament. In the semi-finals they defeated second-seeded St Cuthbert’s College 6–4, 6–0 to secure their place in the final against top-seeded St Kentigern College.
The pair produced an excellent performance in the final, playing some outstanding tennis to win 6–2, 6–3 and claim the title of Intermediate Girls Champions.
Congratulations to Jessica and Piper on a fantastic achievement, and well done to all players who represented the school at the tournament.
