Some recent achievements come from Angel Tao in Year 10. At the end of last year, she progressed through to the semifinals of the National String Competition in New Zealand. She competed against players aged up to 25 and was the youngest violinist in the competition. As part of her preparation, she was given the opportunity to play a solo concerto with the Nelson Symphony Orchestra and earlier in the year she and fellow Dio violinist Eve Lu, performed solo with the Manukau Symphony Orchestra.
Angel has recently been awarded a place in the 5th Hong Kong International String Competition, taking place in the April holidays, and she has gained a place in the New England Conservatory of Music’s Summer orchestral program in July.
We wish Angel all the very best with her international competitions.
