On Sunday 6 April, 7 Dio students joined some 500 others to compete in the regional Orienteering Sprint Finals.
The top 10 students in each age grade from each of the five zones qualify for this competition.
The maps were complex urban terrain, combining school campuses and sections of bush, creating a real sprint orienteering challenge.
Students compete in two different races, in different locations, with the times combined for overall placings.
Charlotte Dalziel placed third in a very competitive Intermediate Girls’ field, with Cerys Findlow not far behind in 7th place. In the Year 8 Girls, Abbie To also placed 7th, with Isla Miller coming a very creditable 11th place in the Junior Girls category.
