Ashley Zu (Year 8) won two Gold medals at the 81st New Zealand National Archery Championship. She became the U14 Barebow Individual Champion and also took first place in the U16 Mixed Barebow Match Play. What makes this especially impressive is the dedication she showed during the holidays, training over five hours and shooting 280 arrows every day to prepare. This represents significant progress from her 4th place finish in the previous College Sports competition.
Eva Li (Year 7) competed in the U14 Compound Girls and U14 Mixed Group Individual Match Play categories. Eva demonstrated her skill against much more experienced archers. Her composure under pressure helped her to secure two Gold medals for her outstanding performances. She was also awarded the Gold medal for her outstanding performance in the National indoor championship last year.
Coco Zhou (Year 8) won the Bronze medal in the U14 Women’s Recurve category. It was a great experience for her, especially as it was her first time participating in such a big event. The school holidays were spent with lots of practice and three intense days of competition.
Yanlin Yang (Year 10) was awarded 3rd place in U16 Womens target championship (45 meters). She also won 2nd place in Team Match Play (unisex, all ages Under 16, mixed bow types, 45 meters).
