Ella was awarded 49 out of 50 ( High Distinction ) and this was the highest mark in New Zealand.

She gained 20/20 for performance as a whole and the examiner wrote: “throughout the recital, the pieces achieved a high level of musical realisation and technique, with the changes in colour, tempo and mood projected with assurance”

This year Ella’s chamber group received the Adjudicators Award at the Auckland Finals of the NZCT Chamber Music competition. Her Dio trio Haydnseek received the Newcomers Award, and they performed to the Governor General at the opening of our Dio Arts Theatre last year.

Ella is one to watch and we look forward to more top level playing in 2023.
