1^st X1

Over Winter Tournament week our Dio 1^st XI Hockey team competed at the Federation Cup in Hawkes Bay, for the Top 32 Teams in the country.

The girls had a great week of hockey winning 4 games, drawing 2 games & losing one game to a strong Wellington College. Highlights were a 6-1 win over St Kentigern College, a 4-1 win over St Paul’s and taking Villa Maria to a sudden death shootout after coming back from being down 2-0 at half time. Well done to the team for preserving throughout the week and finishing 11^th out of 32. Thank you to our 10 Year 13s, who set a wonderful example to all our junior players across the program the entire season. Thank you for your contribution to Dio Hockey!

2^nd X1 

The 2^nd XI Hockey team headed to Taupo to compete in the Chris Arthur Cup. The week was a huge success with the team winning the first 4 games making it straight into the semifinals. A tough game against Rangi Ruru meant they narrowly missed out playing for 1^st and 2^nd. Finishing top 4 overall was a tremendous feat for the Diocesan 2^nd XI, the highest Diocesan Hockey has placed in this tournament in over 10 years. Congratulations to the 3-year 13s for all their hard work and leadership, we wish you all the best!
