It was an exciting opportunity for our players to test themselves against the best school teams in the country, and the experience proved invaluable for the growth of the programme.
For many of our Juniors, this was their very first taste of national-level competition. In fact, the Dio Junior team was the youngest in the entire tournament, with a large number of players only picking up the sport this year. Despite this, they rose to the challenge with courage and determination, showing impressive progress as the week went on. Their commitment and energy in the pool demonstrated both their potential and their passion for the game.
The Juniors finished the tournament in 9th place overall, a commendable result considering their inexperience. More importantly, they came away with a wealth of learning and a clear sense of how to build for the future. With another year of training and competition under their belts, this group promises to be an exciting team to watch in seasons to come.
The Seniors placed 8th on a wild card entry into the tournament. This result is exceptional for the girls with many of them only taking up underwater hockey this year.
A huge thank you goes to Coach Daniel, whose guidance, encouragement, and expertise have been instrumental in supporting both our Junior and Senior squads throughout the year. His dedication has ensured that our players not only improve their technical skills but also develop a real love for the sport.
