Many of them discovered that lots of paths is not necessarily helpful, as you can easily end up on the wrong path. Despite the challenging courses, only one of our 25 athletes punched an incorrect control. Students returned muddy, tired and happy. One of the more delightful aspects of the day was watching students having fun with the many autumn leaves around the event centre. After competing on the orienteering courses, students from all schools co-operated to build large piles of leaves for jumping into.
As well as a silver medal for one of the Intermediate teams (Sophia Ng/Charlotte Dalziel/Cerys Findlow) and a closely fought 4th place for our Year 8 team (Sammy Locke/Isla MacRae/Abbie To), there were several impressive individual results.
