Our team was placed in a first pool alongside two new AIMS teams and St Oran’s, coming away with two strong wins and a narrow loss. This secured progression into the A and B Grade, guaranteeing a Top 64 placing.

On the Wednesday, the girls faced two tough opponents, but they bounced back with a Thursday morning win, moving them into the B Grade. In the afternoon they delivered a thrilling one-goal victory over Pinehurst, a team that had beaten them earlier in the year. That result set up a playoff for 41st and 42nd place overall.

In the final match, Dio took on a strong Birkdale side in a close contest, finishing 42nd overall, an improvement on last year’s result.
