At the end of Term 1 Jessica Druskovich and Poppy Tingey (Senior), Chloe Rawlence and Isabella Coleman (Intermediate) competed in the Auckland Champ of Champs with some excellent results.

Chloe had some hard-fought battles in the Intermediate singles over two days, starting the second day with an incredibly exciting semifinal. Chloe came back from one set down to win in a tie break 10-5. She moved into the final, comfortably winning 6-1, 6-1, taking out the gold medal. This is a huge achievement for Chloe, and the first gold medal for Dio at this tournament.

Chloe and Isabella also had a great tournament in Intermediate doubles, keeping everyone on the edge of their seats, beating St Cuthbert’s in their semifinal 9-7. The final was a nail-biter. The girls played beautiful tennis, keeping Kings working hard for the entire match. At one set each, the girls gave everything in the tie break, narrowly missing out on gold by 3 points.
