The match was fiercely competitive, with both teams exchanging leads quarter by quarter and pushing each other to the limit.
This season has been a standout for Dio’s Premier team, showcasing exceptional skill, resilience, and determination against Auckland’s top netball schools. In a historic achievement, the team claimed first place in the Premier 2 grade for the very first time. This milestone is a reflection of their remarkable growth and hard work.
Captains Kate Beagley and Honor Small shared their reflections on the match:
“It was 40 minutes of intense, fast-paced netball with both us and Mount Albert Grammar taking turns leading each quarter. We ended the first quarter down by three, went up by one in the second, down by one in the third, and ultimately won by just one goal.”
“After the first quarter, despite being behind, we relied on our strong connections and positivity to uplift each other and keep our focus. The win truly reflects the bond, connection, and friendships we’ve built throughout the season.”
A heartfelt thank you goes to coaches Holly and Vic for their unwavering support, passion, and motivation. As the team put it best: “We couldn’t have made it to the final without you!”
Congratulations to our Premier team on an outstanding season—your hard work and team spirit have made Dio proud!
