The North Island Secondary Schools Athletics Championships was held over the weekend where Sina-Maria Suā (Year 10), Abi Bethell (Year 10), Eden Brettell (Year 10), Emily Cowan (Year 13) and Sophia Haines (Year 13) all competed.
These athletes were selected to compete for their region based on their results and placings at Auckland Champs.
- Emily Cowan placed 1st in the Senior girls 200m and the Senior girls 400m.
- Sophia Haines placed 2nd in the Senior girls 800m and 3rd in the senior girls 1500m.
- Eden Brettell placed 2nd in the under 17 girls Pole Vault
- Sina-Maria Suā placed 1st in the intermediate girls discus and 1st in the intermediate girls shot put where she broke the record that had been standing since 2015.
Well done to all athletes that competed at Auckland Champs and North Island Secondary Schools.
