The Dio Cricket 1XI kicked off their Summer Tournament with a hard-fought match against Macleans.
The girls showed great determination, taking the game into the 19th over, but were just edged out.
In the afternoon, they came up against a strong Lynfield side and delivered an excellent performance particularly in their fielding. Unfortunately, the weather was not in our favour, so we were unable to finish the tournament.
Well done to Emily Chapman-Smith (Year 10) for earning MVP in the first match and Zara Khan (Year 13) in the second and congratulations also to Daisy Ellis (Year 12) for her positive and composed leadership as captain.
Lastly, a big thank you to our umpire Rev Haggit, manager Michael Berry and coach Dan Brookes as well as our fantastic scorer Lucy Johnston (Year 10) for all their help this season and at Tournament!
