Dio had two teams travel to compete in the Year 7 & 8 North Island Water Polo Championships which were held in Tauranga from 12–15 November.
Dio Blue demonstrated their development throughout the whole tournament as they continued to build upon skills they had learnt previously in the year and apply them in game situations. The team played every game with a lot of heart and determination which was amazing to see.
Dio White had a fantastic tournament that had many highs and lows. The girls battled their way all through pool play to make it to the final vs Sacred Heart College. At the end of regulation time the final score was 2-2, with both teams battling hard through all four quarters. Unfortunately the girls lost the penalty shoot-out, however winning the silver medal in the pinnacle event of the Year 7&8 season is a great success.
