Athletics – Central, East and West, Zone Day Champs
Dio showcased 27 standout athletes at the Zones Athletics Day, despite tough weather.

This year, Dio fielded an impressive 27 qualifying athletes across various events and age categories at the Central, Eastern, and Western Zones Athletics Day.

The day saw bits of every season – from torrential downpours and high wind levels to snippets of sunshine. Despite the weather conditions, we made the most of the day. All students representing the school were supportive, helpful, and respectful, and there were some incredible performances and results across the board.

In the field events, we saw huge success once again from Sina-Maria Su’a in both the Shot-put and the Discus, breaking more records in these events. We also had Hannah McManus taking out the intermediate Javelin event, and Chloe Luo showing her talent in both Long Jump and Triple Jump, coming 2nd in both events. Unfortunately, an injury to one of our high jumpers resulted in the event having to be postponed.

On the track, we had students in many events and saw some amazing results across the board.

    • Grace Larsen secured 4th place in the junior category.
    • Indie Williams claimed 2nd place in the Intermediate category.
    • Maddie Worrall achieved 4th place.
  • In the 800m:
    • Sophia Haines finished 3rd.
