After some welcome news last week that orchestras can finally get together to rehearse (following social distancing protocols and mask wearing regulations) we ran our first weekend intensive for both symphony and chamber orchestras.
None of our orchestras or bands have been together since August 2021 so it felt like a big reunion for everyone!
Students worked hard and we covered a lot of repertoire – everyone is starting to get back into the swing of things now after such a long break.
We set up in the foyer of the Arts Centre with our 2-metre distancing, doors open and a beautiful view over the field – this was a new experience for all concerned and the acoustics were fabulous! This week we are also finally able to rehearse with Dilworth School, so our three combined groups, Divinitus Choir, Big Band and Concert Band get an injection of life and renewed enthusiasm as the boys and girls can start rehearsing together again.
