Dio Dance Teams Shine Across Multiple Competitions
It has been a busy and successful few weeks for our Diocesan dance teams, with outstanding performances across multiple competitions.

During King’s Birthday Weekend, our three premier Hip Hop teams travelled to Tauranga to compete at the Project Hip Hop Interschool Competition. The teams achieved fantastic results, with Dio AIMS placing 3rd in the Intermediate Division and Dio Mega earning 3rd place in the Mega Schools Category.

The following weekend, our three Hip Hop teams, alongside our Senior Jazz Troupe, competed at the National Dance Challenge held at Westlake Girls High School.

Once again, our dancers represented Dio with pride, achieving impressive results. Dio AIMS placed 3rd, Dio Mega placed 4th, and our Senior Jazz Troupe finished 7th in their division – an excellent achievement, particularly as this was their first-ever competition together.

Our Year 7 and 8 dancers have also been working incredibly hard and were rewarded with fantastic results at the Velocity Dance Competition. Dio AIMS placed 2nd and Dio Intermediate placed 3rd, showcasing the strength and depth of talent within our junior programme.

These achievements are a testament to the dedication, perseverance, and commitment of all our dancers and the staff involved. We are incredibly proud of the way the students have represented the school, both on and off the stage.

A special thank you to our Hip Hop tutor, Ashley Medcalfe, and the Dio staff who gave their time to accompany and support our dancers throughout these competitions.
