Dio Fencing represented North at the New Zealand National U-15 and Cadet Championships in Christchurch last weekend, with Cici Wang, Chloe Kwon, and Bowie Wang competing across both age categories.
It was a highly competitive day, with demanding bouts through poules and direct elimination requiring focus, adaptability, and resilience under pressure.
Bowie placed 1st in the Women’s Foil Cadet category, Cici finished 2nd in Women’s Epee U-15, and Chloe finished 11th in Women’s Epee U-15.
Overall, it was a strong performance for North and a valuable national-level experience for all three fencers.
Bowie was also selected to represent the North A team as captain where they came away with 1st place in the Womens Foil Category, and Cici Wang was also chosen to represent the North A team which also came away with 1st place in the Womens Epee Category.
These are amazing results from these fencers and you all represented Dio with pride. Congratulations!
