Competing while representing their local archery clubs, our students brought home an impressive collection of national titles and medals.

Coco Zhou (Year 9) was one of the tournament’s standout performers, winning gold in the Recurve Under 16 Girls division at both the Indoor National Championships and the Indoor Matchplay Open. Coco added a third gold medal in the Youth Recurve Doubles Team event.

Ashley Zu (Year 9) also enjoyed an exceptional weekend, winning gold in Barebow Under 18 Women at both the Indoor National Championships and the Matchplay Open to become a double national champion.

Yanlin Yang (Year 11) claimed the national title in Recurve Under 18 Women at the Indoor National Championships before adding a silver medal in the Matchplay Open.

Eva Li (Year 8) earned silver in Compound Under 16 Girls at the National Championships before going on to win gold in the Compound Under 16 Mixed Matchplay event.

Maddie Bishop (Year 9) also produced a strong performance, finishing fourth in the highly competitive Compound Under 16 Girls division at the National Championships.

Together, the students collected an impressive nine national medals, including seven golds, across recurve, compound and barebow disciplines.

The championships also featured representation from the wider Dio archery community, with staff member Kelly Atkinson placing fifth in the Recurve Women division at the National Championships. Kelly later competed in the Recurve Doubles Matchplay competition, where her team reached the quarter-finals and finished equal fifth.
