Year 10, 12, and 13 students each brought something different to the table.
Our Year 10 student shared their app design concepts, exploring the potential of their ideas with fresh eyes and real ambition.
Meanwhile, Year 12 and 13 students presented their NCEA and Scholarship projects, engaging in thoughtful conversations about innovation, development, and what it takes to turn an idea into something tangible.
We are still in the early stages, but the visit has sparked something genuinely exciting. Momentum has expressed a keen interest in continuing to mentor our students and serve as an active stakeholder, helping our girls refine their thinking and, potentially, develop solutions that could one day be market-ready.
So, who is Momentum?
They are Aotearoa’s student-led commercialisation programme, purpose-built to support early-stage innovation. Their work involves connecting student project teams with strategic guidance, expert advice, and global networks, as well as helping clear pathways to funding and investment.
As a partner in the government’s Commercialisation Partner Network (CPN) established by the Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment (MBIE) Momentum plays a national role in turning publicly funded ideas into real-world outcomes, connecting tertiary institutes, investors, and commercialisation experts across the country.
Momentum is also accredited to make formal investment decisions through the PreSeed Accelerator Fund (PSAF), which provides vital early-stage capital to help promising student and university-born technologies move swiftly from concept to market.
For our students, this is far more than a guest visit, it is a genuine connection to the professional world of innovation and entrepreneurship. We look forward to seeing where this exciting partnership takes them!
