The team started strongly with a 2–0 win over Cashmere High School, followed by hard-fought 0–0 draws against Baradene College and Scots College, securing their place in the Top 16.

In the Round of 16, Dio came up against previous champions Mount Albert Grammar School, narrowly going down 2–1. The team bounced back on Day 3 with a 2–1 victory over Long Bay College, before closing out the tournament with tough matches against Avonside Girls’ High School and Wellington College.

Away from the field, there was plenty of time for team bonding, with a cake decorating competition, talent show, hot pools and waterslides, and a final team dinner at Portofino rounding out a memorable week.

The tournament was a brilliant way to finish the season and farewell our Year 13 players. A special thank you to captains Mia Hanton and Holly Webster, alongside Sian Christie, Sofia Kong, Zara Harris, Gemma Twist and Sophie Schulze, for their leadership and contribution to the team.

Thank you also to Coach Connor and Manager Amanda for their commitment and support throughout the season, and to Ms Lambert and Waimaria, the team’s physio, for their support during tournament week.
